Why Style & Gravitas? The Compact Oxford English Dictionary defines Style as “elegance and sophistication” and Gravitas as “dignified and serious manner”.
As a company we recognise that computer application must provide a working solution to a business problem – they must have “gravitas”. Yet they must also be appealing to the user and be easy to use – they must have “style”.
Over out many years of experience we believe we have successfully combined these elements and that we do deliver both Style & Gravitas for our clients.
Style & Gravitas is owned and managed by Norman Mitchell, a Chartered Accountant with first hand experience of the whole accounting function with special emphasis on budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
His experience has encompassed both the sharp end running the budgeting and management reporting processes for medium and large companies. He then applied his practical skills to advising and implementing budgeting and forecasting applications in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Most recently he has focused on automated Excel solutions and has developed applications that have included:-
· Utilities to read and reformat workbooks into a single file for input to financial databases
· Customised functions to encapsulate complex Excel formulae into more user friendly argument driven solutions using multi-user interfaces that are built and deployed based on parameters extracted from an underlying database
· User documentation and (where needed) technical manuals
· He has also developed and delivered Excel training modules in Data Analysis (including Pivot Tables), Charts and “What-if” |
